jb good food

Other than those that I have showed in my previous post "our must haves whenever we are back in jb", there are some other food that are really good too.

Roti Prata - Slurps! In sg, most of the places have their prata done before the customer order. Here in jb, this is done right on the spot. If there are no customers, the prata man will take a break. He will not continue to make more, which is why it is much much better than the ones found in sg.

安记楼 - One of the restaurants that we frequent for Sat dinner with my in-laws. There are many chinese restaurants that served really good food but this is one that provides delicious food at affordable, reasonable price. Almost all the food here are good! Must order: Deep fried prawn with salted egg, Dong Po Rou and fried toufu which I do not know the name. There is one Yuan Yang cod fish which is superb too!

French toast - In Old town kopitiam. I really like the french toast here as it is done exactly how my late paternal grandma does it. I cannot find this anywhere else.

三楼鱼汤 - Haven't been back here for 2 year! It's specialty is fish soup, but I think the fish is ok only. We came back mainly for the marmite chicken. Yums! 三楼 beehoon is well-known here in jb, but this is not the authentic one.

德记 - No pics for this. But this is one of the place where we frequent too my in-laws. Many singaporeans know about this too. It is famous for its paper chicken. And yes, so far, all the different dishes that we have ordered from here taste good! Will share pics next time!

happy 4th year anniversary to us

9th July 2011 is our 4th year of being married to each other.
As it is a first time that it falls on a weekend, we've "applied" leave (= mama had to work extra on saturday to take care of baby zq) to spend some time together.

Went to our current favorite ramen restaurant, Ippudo @Mandarin Gallery. It was my 4th time here and all 4 times I ordered the same ramen. It is really good! Though the seasoned egg was not as tasty as Marutama @Central (our previous favorite ramen restaurant), it is still better than others.

Can't remember that last time we watched a movie together. Decided to go for Transformer : Dark of the Moon. Bleh! Sucks. Felt that the whole movie was pieced together, snippets here and there with no proper continuation of one scene to another.

Walked around and it's time for dinner! Food again. Drove to Chip Bee Gardens for Da Paolo Pizzeria. It was my third time here. Introduced first by my frens, brought hubby once but can't remember what was the occasion. Remembered that it was delicious the first 2 times but okay only this time. Ordered a pizza each, a beer for him and apple juice for myself.

I think as we grow older, there is not so much excitement on anniversary anymore. It was just a day spent together. Neither of us took the time to plan and book where to go and where to eat, unlike in the past. All was impromptu but were places and things that we like to go and do. But, that doesn't mean that we don't love each other anymore. :)

Laogong, Happy Anniversary! Muaks!
