Birth of my baby girl - 16th Sep 2009

I know...this is long overdue...but I juz have to write it down......

EDD (estimated date of delivery) was on 15th sep but till 15th sep, I still have not encounter any labour pains watsoever. Thus, gynae asked me to admit into hospital that night to be induced.

15th Sep (11pm) : Admitted into TMC.

15th Sep (1145pm) : Gynae came to stuff a tablet into my uterus (i think).

16th Sep (4am) : Started to feel contractions. Began to time my contractions. Did not sleep the whole night.

16th Sep (930am) : Sent to observation ward after having breakfast. At observation ward, "something" was inserted into anus to clear bowels. Bowels cleared.

16th Sep (11am) : Gynae came to check and broke my water bag. Only 2 cm dilated.

16th Sep (1pm) : Took light lunch. Though the pain is still bearable, but was very tired. Thinking if I take epidural, I will have some time to rest. Requested for epidural.

16th Sep (245pm) : Took epidural. Did not rest at all. Side effect of epidural, slight fever and severe shivering (will not happen to everyone, unlucky me).

16th Sep (5pm) : Gynae came to check dilation again. Only 3 cm!! Super demoralised. He decided to put me on another induced medication which come in the form of drip.

16th Sep (7pm) : Gynae came to check. Dilated 5 cm. Yay! Finally....seeing some "light"

16th Sep (8pm) : I suddenly had the urge to push. Hurried hubby to call the nurse. Nurse came to check and found that I was already 9cm dilated!! Yay...finally!! But the urge to push is really difficult to control. Need to resist coz can only start pushing when dilated to 10cm. Nurse went to call gynae and I was pushed to the labour ward.

16th Sep (820pm) : In the labour ward waiting for gynae. Finally he arrived and I was already 10cm dilated! He then lowered the epidural so that I can feel the contractions. Whenever I have contractions, I was supposed to push. After that, everyone else disappeared and left me and hubby. So hubby was my nurse and whenever contractions came, he counted for me and I was pushing. Gynae was gone and the nurses were walking around. They say that first time will not be so fast. Gynae will only come back in when the baby's crown can be seen. Finally, after pushing for dunno how long, gynae came back and "suit" up, ready for delivery. 2 nurses were back together with hubby to assist me in pushing. After dunno how long again, finally.....

16th Sep (942pm) : Baby Natalie was finally out! (with the help of vacuum). Phew~!
